We are committed in treating all walks of life who enter our offices with dignity and respect.
Our values are to deliver all services in a professional and kind approach.
WHY WE DO IT:
Our team believes in serving our community members including immigrants and native-born residents through an organization that avoids the difficulty of navigating a complex system, always committed to help low-income families and individuals to improve the quality life and promote a healthy integration into the community. The frustration, isolation, and fear that limits immigrants with language, education, and health barriers creates severe economic and social disruptions producing vulnerability to legal issues, homelessness, malnutrition, abuse, discrimination,
family dissolution and severe health complications.
WHO WE ARE:
United Community Center of Westchester, Inc. (UCCW) is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit community-based organization, with the purpose to provide quality social, economic and community development services to those who face financial, educational, health, language, or cultural barriers to realizing their dreams. We are community-oriented, welcoming people of all ages and diverse cultures. Assisting residents of New Rochelle and surrounding areas. We are an open door facility where individuals can walk in and feel comfortable addressing their circumstances. Our work involves a blend of direct service provision and advocacy. We have adapted in accommodating all languages and will devote time and patience to ensure out clients are understood and guided accordingly.
HOW WE DO IT:
Our team works well from the moment someone walks in and is greeted by our Intake coordinator to then being seated with a case manager for a more profound understanding of necessity. Our staff will document and save all visits in a database as well as a hard copy file for future returns. We continuously work and collaborate with all neighboring center, hospitals, clients, law firm ETC to make certain optimal assistance is obtained by person in need.
We are honored to provide our support to more than five hundred individuals and families per month. Our UCCW’s clients are “walk-ins” and referrals from local organizations and government offices such as, law enforcement, city courts, schools, churches, domestic violence centers, medical centers/hospitals, hotlines, and housing agencies.
Our goal is strengthening the neighborhood we all love by building partnerships to invest and to develop permanent solutions that empower low-income individuals, families, at-risk children, youth, battered women, seniors, immigrants, and people with disabilities to overcome obstacles, as we strive toward greater opportunity throughout all of Westchester.
WHY PEOPLE BELIEVE ON US:
We are grateful for all the help UCCW has provided us and our family for many years.
We are blessed to have a place to go every time we have a need!

“Due to an accident while crossing the border to join my family I was hospitalized for more than three months and I become paralyzed from the waist down. Thanks to the kindness and dedication of United Community Center of Westchester they were able to help with the transfer from Arizona to New Rochelle. They provided me with a hospital bed for my comfort, wheelchair and took the time to help my aunt with my care until I was assigned a Home Attendant. They are like angels who came to my aid. Now I live a better life and I am the mother of a beautiful child. I sincerely hope that this organization will endure forever”
